Delta Burke es más conocida por protagonizar Designing Women. Antes de esto, pudo experimentar ser coronada como Miss Florida. Burke había estado luchando con su peso a lo largo de los años y no podía recuperar su cuerpo de concurso. Fue en los años 90 que sufrió una fijación mediática que hizo tambalear su autoestima.
Burke eventualmente recibió un diagnóstico de diabetes, así que decidió de una vez por todas que había llegado el momento de actuar. Adoptó hábitos alimenticios limpios y se aseguró de tener la disciplina y la consistencia adecuadas para ello. ¡Burke finalmente consiguió perder alrededor de 65 libras!
