Xavier Niel, fondateur du groupe Iliad et copropriétaire du journal Le Monde depuis 2010, dirige de multiples projets. Depuis 2010, il investit dans les startups technologiques et l’immobilier. En 2020, il a racheté Nice-Matin auprès du groupe Hersant Média, puis, en 2021, acquis une propriété au Cap-Ferret pour 17 millions d’euros. Il possède aussi une résidence sur l’île de Ré, achetée pour près de 10 millions d’euros et qui constitue un refuge idyllique dans un cadre naturel préservé.
Ses placements reflètent sa place stratégique dans la presse et l’immobilier de luxe. Son portefeuille inclut par ailleurs diverses participations dans la tech française, illustrant l’étendue de ses activités entrepreneuriales. Il a aussi cofondé Kima Ventures, une structure active dans plusieurs pays.
