Joaquin Phoenix – 52 Pounds Lost, Dieting
Joaquin won over critics’ and fans’ hearts after the phenomenal performance in ‘Joker.’ To really get into the groove of the part, he had to look hungry and unhealthy as per the director. Given the actor’s dedication, he went on to lose 52 pounds instead of using prosthetics or makeup.
The Academy Award winner underwent a carefully restrictive diet under the watchful eyes of doctors. He wanted to make sure that the process was safe. His transformation involved controlling carbohydrates and calories, which ultimately results in the burning of fat. Phoenix has admitted that the process wasn’t easy physically and required a lot of effort, but it eventually paid off!
