Ela começou sua jornada de emagrecimento comendo menos calorias e fazendo muitas corridas. Infelizmente, Lake recuperou parte de seu peso, mas logo voltou a emagrecer quando se juntou ao programa Dancing with the Stars em 2011. Ela não venceu a competição, mas terminou 9 quilos mais leve.
