En el amor Mauro siempre fue de una sola mujer, y así lo demostró al estar más de cincuenta años casado con su amiga de la infancia Leonor Schwadron. La pareja ha señalado que la clave para estar tanto tiempo juntos es llevar una vida activa, pero dejar los problemas fuera de casa.
