Troy Garity – Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden
Troy O’Donovan Garity, known as Troy Garity, is the son of actress and activist Jane Fonda and politician and activist Tom Hayden. When Troy was born in 1973, his parents were so much involved in the Vietnamese war, so they named him after Nguyen Van Troi, a Vietnamese liberationist who was caught planning to assassinate the United States Secretary of Defense in 1964.
Troy Garity was given his paternal grandmother’s maiden name, and his middle name is a tribute to the Irish revolutionary Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa. He’s well known for several successful roles in the ‘Barbershop’ movie series, and he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the ‘Soldier’s Girl.’
