Cora’s hart maakte een sprong van opluchting toen zij zag dat de vriendelijke stewardess haar koffers niet naar buiten bracht, maar ze juist terugdroeg naar haar zitplaats. De stewardess plaatste de koffers zorgvuldig terug in het bagagecompartiment en schonk Cora een geruststellende glimlach. “Gaat u alstublieft weer zitten, mevrouw,” sprak zij zacht terwijl zij Cora terug naar haar plaats begeleidde. “Heeft u mijn stoelnummer kunnen vinden?” vroeg Cora met een sprankje hoop in haar stem, terwijl zij de stewardess dankbaar toelachte.
