The British Celebs With One Foot In The Grave And A Martini

Mike Harding – Born in 1944

Back in the 1970s, Mike Harding was the man who could make you laugh and sing in the same breath. Known as “The Rochdale Cowboy,” he mixed witty folk songs with sharp Northern humour, becoming one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers. His 1975 single of the same name shot to the top of the charts, and his sell-out tours made him a staple of the folk and comedy circuits.

Beyond performing, he hosted “The Mike Harding Show” on BBC Radio 2, championing folk musicians from across the UK. A writer, musician, and comedian rolled into one, Mike is proof that storytelling is the heart of every excellent performance.
