Ricky Schroder estava se formando em finanças comerciais enquanto trabalhava como técnico de reparos de telefones. No entanto, ele decidiu seguir seu sonho de ser ator. Ele ganhou um Globo de Ouro por sua atuação no filme O Campeão, em 1980. Schroder adora corridas de carros e, de fato, usou esse amor para apoiar “Racing For Kids”, onde celebridades correm para “arrecadar” fundos para crianças com necessidades de saúde.
Em 2006, pouco antes de seu 24º aniversário de casamento, Ricky e sua esposa pediram o divórcio, mas a boa notícia é que eles continuam ativos na luta contra o abuso infantil.
