Pedro Almodóvar’s films are always hard to explain. In one of his movies, the 1991 melodrama High Heels, Spanish pop new wave singer Miguel Bose played the role of Judge Edwardo Dominguez aka Letal, the drag queen. The movie is about a mother who returns home after 15 years.
She finds her daughter married to one of her ex-boyfriends. She then tries to repair their broken mother-daughter relationship. Miguel’s role was surprisingly difficult to cast, as the actor would have to be convincing both as a judge and as a drag queen for the film.
