Hana followed the bear, her heart pounding as it moved with an eerie calm through the hospital corridors. There was no doubt the bear was leading her somewhere, its steps deliberate and unhurried. Soon, they reached the outside, the forest closing in around them.
With shaking hands, Hana pulled out her phone and dialed Peter, an animal expert she trusted. His voice broke the silence, steady but laced with concern. “Hana, what’s going on?” She could barely catch her breath. “Peter, a bear… it brought me here. It’s got something with it, and I can’t leave.” A heavy pause followed, and Hana felt his worry stretch across the line.
