Ainda que já possuísse um currículo extenso, foi apenas no final dos anos 80 que Betty Faria atingiu o estrelato com sua Tieta. A novela foi um sucesso estrondoso, transformando a atriz em um dos ícones da televisão brasileira, posição que ocupa até hoje.
Próxima de completar 80 anos, a atriz ainda esbanja saúde e segue trabalhando. Recentemente, por exemplo, Betty teve a oportunidade de reviver o papel que a consagrou na novela Verão 90.
