Catherine Deneuve is een Franse actrice die beroemd is geworden met haar rollen in de films geregisseerd door onder anderen Polanski en Buñuel. Ze is nog steeds actief in haar acteercarrière en heeft recentelijk ook in een hoop films gespeeld, zoals de film Truth uit 2019.
Ook is de actrice bekend voor haar steun aan diverse liberale doelen. Zo steunt ze bijvoorbeeld de strijd tegen de doodstraf, de strijd voor de rechten op abortus en nog meer soortgelijke controversiële doelen. Met al haar enorme gelddonaties door de jaren heen mag ze zich best een filantroop noemen.
