Eén van de meest indrukwekkende zangeressen van Nederlandse bodem is nog steeds de Rotterdamse ster Anita Meyer. In tegenstelling tot talloze bekende Nederlanders heeft Meyer ervoor gekozen niet mee te doen aan de Hollandse entertainment poppenkast. Ze is geen presentatrice, doet niet aan realityshows en is niet in een geel zwembroekje aanwezig geweest in ieder reclameblok dat voorbij kwam. Anita Meyer is zangeres. En wat voor één! 14 studioalbums, 3 verzamelalbums en een dikke vette live plaat.
Haar album Tears Go By uit 2011 is een plaatje, opgenomen met het Metropole Orkest. Opmerkelijk is dat zij naast haar 100% toewijding als muzikant, zij ook geen sterallures lijkt te hebben. Ze leeft net als jij en ik, rijdt niet in dure auto’s en heeft al jaren hetzelfde huis. Wel in Blaricum, dus het zal geen goedkope woning zijn. De waardes van huizen in die regio liggen tussen de 500.000 en enkele miljoenen. Het vermogen en de waarde van Anita’s huis blijven vooralsnog onbekend. Dat vinden we prima, ze heeft het verdiend!
