John Popper é a cara da banda Blues Travelers e ele batalhou com uma condição muito relacionável que aflige várias pessoas: compulsão alimentar. O distúrbio o levou a ter uma saúde não muito boa e ele eventualmente descobriu que sofre de diabetes.
Após perceber que seu peso poderia ser a causa de sua vida estar se encaminhando para um fim precoce, Popper fez algo para lutar contra os resultados de seus terríveis hábitos alimentares. Ele precisava de resultados rápidos, então ele optou por fazer uma cirurgia de bypass gástrico. O procedimento caro o fez perder 90 quilos e com certeza salvou sua vida!
