Jodie Foster è una di quelle attrici bambine che sono riuscite con successo a passare a ruoli più maturi. La Foster è stata nominata per un Academy Award a 14 anni per la sua performance nel thriller psicologico, Taxi Driver.

Recentemente, è apparsa nel 2018 nel film thriller cyberpunk, Hotel Artemis.
