Annie Ross – Age 88
British-American songstress Annie Ross gained fame for being part of the Lambert, Hendricks & Ross jazz singing trio. Apart from being a singer, Ross has been a known actress since the late ‘30s when she won a radio station’s children’s contest. The prize was actually an MGM contract! The then 7-year-old Annie sang The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond from the musical short, Our Gang Follies of 1938. At 10th grade, Annie left her education to focus on her entertainment career. This became her source of earnings from then on. The ASCAP Jazz Wall of Fame honored Ross in 2009.
