Anita Zucker – $2.4 Billion
Anita Zucker immigrated from Israel to the U.S., and she had never expected that a $2.4-billion fortune awaited her. She studied at the University of Florida and the University of North Carolina, and she then married Jerry Zucker. When she became a widow in 2008, she inherited InterTech, which Jerry had founded in 1982. The company specializes in chemical materials, but it also owns a lot of commercial real estate properties across the country. Zucker also holds a share from the South Carolina Stingrays, a minor league hockey team.
