Mit 16 Jahren fing ihre Karriere an als Denise Huxtable in der bekannten The Cosby Show. War auch kein Wunder, da sie in einer Familie voller talentierter Menschen in der Musical-Branche aufwuchs, daher war ihr Karriereweg von Anfang an geprägt. Sie zog nach New York und spielte einige Rollen.
Mit 20 bekam sie ihr erste Kind und spielte in diversen Filmen mit, als sie dann in 1992 Moderatorin der Serie Why Bother Voting? wurde. Den gleichen Erfolg hatte sie in der Zeit zwar nicht mehr, allerdings sieht sie heutzutage immer noch so aus, als wäre ihr Jugend gerade einmal 5 Jahre her.
