Marco Borsato begon zijn carrière in de Soundmixshow, met snorretje en al. In het begin van zijn zangloopbaan vertolkte Marco al zijn liedjes in het Italiaans, maar pas toen hij in het Nederlands ging zingen werd hij razend populair. Knallers als Dromen zijn Bedrog worden nog steeds luidkeels meegezongen op iedere plek waar de hit wordt gedraaid. Borsato heeft ook genoeg pech gehad.
Hij vertrouwde de verkeerde gladjanussen, waardoor zijn onderneming failliet ging en Marco nagenoeg aan de grond zat. Hij kwam er weer bovenop, alleen om geveld te worden door een stempoliep. Toch heeft hij inmiddels weer een vermogen van meer dan 5 miljoen euro opgebouwd. Echte sterren komen altijd terug. Zijn villa in Blaricum heeft een waarde van maar liefst 3,5 miljoen euro.
