Dakota Fanning


Dakota was born in 1994 in Georgia, USA. Before she landed her first job she would pretend to be an actor at home all the time her family said. Her family took her to a weekly acting class and the teachers recognized Fannning’s great talent and advised her parents to sign her up at some acting/model agency. The agency advised the family to spend some time in California so that Fanning could find acting jobs. This is when she managed to get her first job in a national Tide commercial. After the great success the family decided to move to Los Angeles so that Fanning could pursue her dream of becoming a successful actress.

Her big break-through came when she was chosen to play the character Lucy Diamond Dawson alongside Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer in the film I Am Sam which earned her multiple nominations including a Screen Actors Guide Award at just eight years. In fact, she was the youngest nominee in that category. After the great success of the movie she played leading roles in many other movies e.g. Man on Fire alongside Denzel Washington and Hide and Seek alongside Robert De Niro. In the film War of the World she played Tom Curise’s daughter.

Fun facts to know about Fanning: She knew to read a little at the age of two, collected dolls when she was a child and was home schooled until she joined high school in her freshman year.
