Angélica María es el nombre artístico de la cantante, compositora y actriz, Angélica María Hartman Ortiz, considera por muchos como una de las impulsoras del rock and roll en México. De padre estadounidense y madre mexicana, Angélica tuvo una nutrida formación musical de la mano de la polivalente visión de sus padres. Su éxito en la música la llevó rápidamente al cine, protagonizando varias películas que son consideradas como referentes de la época dorada del cine mexicano.
Actualmente, a sus 75 años se encuentra semi retirada, descansando la mayor parte del año y de vez en cuando realizando algún concierto, para ayudar en alguna causa benéfica.
