È stata la prima donna a vincere un Oscar per una performance in un film in lingua straniera. Sophia è conosciuta e amata in tutto il mondo ma soprattutto in Italia. È tornata nel mondo dei concorsi come giudice nel 2010 per il concorso di Miss Italia. Ha ricevuto molti premi nella sua carriera, diventando una delle più grandi star del cinema classico di Hollywood.
