La afortunada es Kelly Preston, con quien está casado desde 1991. Su matrimonio está lejos de ser perfecto, pero ellos prefieren resolver los problemas con terapia matrimonial en lugar de pelear constantemente. Tienen tres hijos juntos, pero lamentablemente el mayor murió en 2009.
