Even though Tony Curtis’ character gets the girl in the movie, Tony and Jack Lemmon had to test if their smiles were good enough and whether or not they would get noticed walking around in their disguises. When they first got dressed to impress, they walked around Goldwyn Studios.
The ultimate test was when they entered the ladies’ bathroom to fix their makeup and none of the ladies there complained or said anything at all about it. This exact scene was later recreated and added to the movie when the characters were fleeing on a train
