Tyler Perry – Diary of a Mad Black Woman
Tyler Perry created his character Mabel Madea Simmons for the movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman. It was inspired by the women in his life, his mother, his aunts, and of course his sisters. The story is about a couple who is seemingly doing okay.
That is until the wife discovers that her husband wants a divorce. Tyler also plays the roles of uncle Joe Simmons and Brian Simmons. The movie was such a success in 2005 that they moved on to make a sequel called Madea’s Family Reunion, which was released one year later.
