Edward Wood was an American low-budget science fiction director who just so happened to have a female alter ego called Shirley. The movie Ed Wood directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp is a biographical comedic drama that tells us his story in a very compelling way.
Depp later said that to play this character he had to have a mixture of blind optimism and the Tin Man’s enthusiasm. A pretty comedic fact about this movie is that it cost more money to make than the total money Edward Wood needed for all his movies combined.
