Jason Bateman ascendeu ao mundo dos famoso na década de 80, quando ele obteve um papel na popular sitcom Caras & Caretas, onde interpretou a personagem Mallory. Outra série onde Bateman também desfrutou de alguma popularidade foi Valerie.
Apesar de ele nunca ter comparecido numa clínica de reabilitação de drogas, ele lutou contra o vício de álcool e drogas. Sua força foi maior e conseguiu, sozinho, superar a dependência. Claro que o ator provavelmente teve ajuda da família e outras pessoas importantes para ele afim de conseguir superar o pesadelo das drogas.
