Ed Asner was a regular on The Mary Tyler Moore show over several years. His character turned out to be such a hit with audiences that he later got his own series. Ed Asner was the proud president of Screen Actor’s Guild for several years as well. Asner dedicates his time to charities that help people with autism because he has an autistic grandchild.
