Clive James – Age 79
Clive James has seen many years’ worth of work as a broadcaster, translator, memoirist, critic, and poet. He took up UK residence back in 1962 and he has been living and working in the UK ever since. James published a poetry compilation he titled The Book of My Enemy, along with several other works. He hosted Clive James on Television and also appeared as a guest in several other shows. In 2014, there was speculation of him requiring a kidney transplant, and then came the news that he suffered from emphysema and lymphocytic leukemia. He documented his battles in the Reports of My Death column of The Guardian until 2017.
