It’s not that Val Kilmer has disappeared, it’s just that he is not as popular as he once was, and it’s very easy to forget about him. The Doors was an exceptional film partly because of the excellence that was Kilmer’s performance. After that, he delivered memorable performances in The Salton Sea, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. He was also Batman in the film Batman Forever, which was not as great as Christopher Nolan’s rendition of the comic book character. But he is not ready to withdraw into retirement just yet.
