The former Genesis artist married Jill Tavelman in 1984 and, after 12 years of marriage, communicated with her via fax machine to hash out the details of their divorce. While Tavelman now lives comfortably in the Los Angeles mansion she and Collins bought together in 1992, Collins has faced continuous legal problems and a downturn in popularity.
