Seasoned presenter Huw Edwards faced an unexpected technical glitch in June 2017 during a live broadcast of BBC’s “News at Ten.” It left him in an awkward spotlight as viewers were met with a series of “Breaking News” graphics flashing repeatedly, accompanied by loud alert sounds, while he sat silently, unaware of the on-air mishap.
For nearly four minutes, the broadcast oscillated between these disruptive clips and live shots of Huw, who maintained his composure despite the confusion. The incident quickly became a talking point. It’s not easy, but it’s important for presenters to stay poised under pressure, and Huw delivered.
