Die US-Amerikanische Schauspielerin Mary Steenburgen hat, seit sie von Jack Nicholson entdeckt wurde und in seinem Film Der Galgenstrick spielte, eine beeindruckende Karriere hingelegt und in einer Vielzahl Filme und Serien sowohl in Neben-als auch in Hauptrollen mitgewirkt. Dafür wurde sie mehrfach ausgezeichnet und hat neben einem Oscar auch einen Golden Globe.
