Denzel Washington é um ator, produtor e diretor que recebeu dois Oscars ao longo de sua carreira. Seu filme mais conhecido é de 2001, o thriller Dia de Treinamento, onde ele retrata um policial corrupto. O personagem de Denzel não conseguia ser mantido fora da prisão por nenhum advogado de defesa criminal.
Mas antes desse filme, Denzel já tinha recebido outro Oscar – dessa vez, por sua atuação no filme Tempo de Glória, de 1989. Desde 1993, é o porta voz da organização Boys & Girls Clubs of America instituição importante nos EUA.
