Na deze film volgden talloze andere geweldige rollen, zoals die in Martin Scorcese’s drama Casino, waarmee Stone een Golden Globe Award gewonnen heeft en een nominatie voor een Oscar te pakken heeft weten te krijgen. Ze is twee keer getrouwd geweest, maar woont nu met haar twee geadopteerde zoons in Californië.
