Hairspray star Blonsky struck gold when she got the lead role in the film, or so she thought. But after the successful movie, Blonsky was only able to get minor roles. Hairspray may have inspired her to pursue the same career as her character as she eventually got a cosmetology license and had since worked in a salon in Long Island.
